NPCs Please!

As you can imagine, I have been busy working on my real-life writing lately, and sort of focusing on a dimension project when I have free time. The writing workshop I attend has published its newest anthology, so I needed to sort all that out before I could think of writing here.

Plus, that great competition launched by Brasse and Seshatar has kept me busy too… It’s so fun! I think, even once the competition is over, I will be writing more of those, that’s how fun they are.

However, another thing that I’ve been pondering these last few weeks, is how much I wish we had more “people” NPCs to work with in dimensions.

Grass Terrain Paint

I know Kitasia has an excellent list of dimension items over at Dimension Addicts. But sometimes, seeing items in a dimension, side by side, helps you to compare them, to help you better decide which one suits your build best.

Here I have put three grass terrain paints side by side, because I myself was experiencing this dilemma.

Short Hiatus

You’ve probably noticed that I’ve not posted much in the last week. I’m busy preparing a house move—our landlord sold the house, and with seven months remaining in the UK, we’ve had to find a new place to live.

Hence, the computer will be unplugged this weekend, and the blog will be silent for the time it takes us to move and settle into the new place.

For now, I leave you with this:

Firstly, The Inn at Gustav’s Cove O-RP is now open again on Zaviel, EU. (Thank you Trion! ❤ )

Secondly, this week I opened a new dimension called C-RP Dagnir’s Crevice. I wanted to attempt a proper dimension transformation, to see if I could do it in a believable way. It’s a tiny build, in the Sanguine Shores dimension, based around the myth of a dagger Gwedhiel carries. Please feel free to take a look, and if you have a minute, I’d love to know what you thought of it. An accompanying text regarding the dagger’s story will eventually follow. Stay tuned! 😉

Shelter in the Mountain

Since the Cozy Cottages III contest last September, Mordrahan’s Refuge de montagne has haunted me. I’ve gone back several times, almost sad that I couldn’t give it another +1. (Feendish’s contest is a great way to get to know other dimensioneers, and possibly even make a new friend or two.)

Over the last few months, I’ve learned that Mordrahan is a roleplayer on Brisesol, with the guild L’Ordre Draconique. As such, I would say he is mostly a roleplay-oriented builder, with a fantastic eye for detail and realism, and each of his many builds tells a story.

Ode to a Quirky Piano

On the pages of the book propped up on this quirky piano’s table, are the notes for a wonderful Fae Yule song, inspired by the piano itself.

On the first day of Fae Yule my true love gave to me, a cushioned stool with green seat.

On the second day of Fae Yule my true love gave to me, two limestone spheres and a cushioned stool with green seat.

May The Force Be With You

… when you see this build.

Calling all Star Wars fans! There are some remarkable dimensions built on the theme of Star Wars. All these building blocks—gold, spheres, blinkies, etc—sure can help us recreate a lot of its fictional characters, especially the robots.

That being said, here’s one I happily discovered whilst out looking for something else entirely: Far, Far Away by Nouvae@Hailol, EU.

Marie A. Secret Chamber

In 1770, at the young age of 15, Marie Antoinette, Archduchess of Austria, married Louis-Auguste, the Dauphin of France (the future and last king of France, Louis XVI). Unfortunately for them, the French Revolution was on their doorstep, and as the monarchy was a symbol of excess and disloyalty, they were eventually both (individually) convicted of treason and sent to the guillotine.

Though the French Revolution was more complicated than my brief summary, it certainly sets the stage for what you will see in one of the extraordinary builds of Loveyttsab on Typhiria, EU. Take a look…

Sara’s Christmas Town

It’s the month of December, and I’m feeling a little under the weather—I think I’m coming down with a cold. You know how it goes, you’re feeling sick, you turn to comforting things (i.e. your favorite game) but you’re easily distracted and sort of grumpy… Hence, I decided to go exploring on Faeblight, at random, and discovered this lovely little Christmas town by Sarabande.

The Inn at Gustav’s Cove

For anyone who likes to roleplay, last April I finally finished my first dimension and opened it to the public. This is my first time posting about it on my blog, though the dimension has been listed at Dimension Gallery since it went public. (Also of interest: Here’s to First Attempts.)

I thought it fitting to create an entry here, seeing as my recent giveaway related to dimensions you can roleplay in. I’ve been toying with the idea of writing up a post about The Inn at Gustav’s Cove for quite some time, although I had hoped to create some “backstory images” of the inn before Mr. and Mrs. Pesca took ownership of it.

However, I seem to have so many projects going on and so much crazy in my life lately that I just haven’t had the time. I’m one of those takes-forever-to-plan sorts of people, which means might be this project never comes about.

So without further ado…

Welcome to Gustav’s Cove
